Recently, The Law Office of Steven R. Sutton represented a rent-stabilized tenant in a case against a large real estate developer/builder in lower Manhattan, New York City. The firm filed two separate appeals and motions to advocate for the tenant’s rights and exploit pitfalls in the landlord’s case. Additionally, the firm sought discovery of documents and information from the landlord, in order to stall the matter from going to trial. Ultimately the landlord settled the case for an amount that will allow the tenant to relocate to a luxury apartment that she intends to purchase in Manhattan.
